Vehicle Description
1964 Ford Ranchero
Why This Car Is Special
The Ranchero was introduced for the 1957 model year and ran until
1979. Our 1964 Ford Ranchero, we have here at Skyway Classics,
represents a revolutionary half-car, half-truck configuration that
made it easy to climb in and drive while standing by ready, willing
and able to haul burdens as needed.
When it was introduced, the Ranchero broke quite a few automotive
industry rules. Built off of an automobile assembly line yet sold
via Ford's truck division, it was a definite hit with both the
automotive press and the American buying public.
It's looking sharp both inside and out and is armed with a period
correct 302 cubic inch V8 engine under its hood that runs and looks
great.
Mechanical
Under the hood rests a 302 cubic inch small block Ford engine that
has been dressed up with custom aftermarket finned air cleaner
assembly and finned Falcon Powered by Ford valve covers.
It also has air conditioning, performance spark plug wire set, new
battery, aluminum radiator, and looks great in the detailed,
painted, and clean engine compartment.
The power is routed through an automatic, shifted on the floor. The
exhaust has a nice note and the underneath it's very solid and
features an updated dual exhaust system.
The car-truck sits on factory mustang styled wheels adorned with
blackwall tires for a very clean period look.
Interior
The updated interior has a balance of vintage factory looks with
tasteful amounts of aftermarket parts like the twin black
adjustable high-back bucket seats with interior storage space just
behind them, black vinyl door panels as well as the headliner,
clean black carpeting and floor mats, three-spoke wood-rimmed
steering wheel, the nice looking blue factory dash with the stock
instrument panel and gauges that all function as intended, an air
conditioning unit below the dash, the chrome automatic shifter sits
within easy reach, and the Mustang radio.
Exterior
This '64 features a clean and very nice looking blue paint scheme
that is solid-looking and well-aligned, with a hood and doors that
open and close smoothly and show nice even gaps.
Many of its exterior fittings, including both the front and rear
bumpers, side mirrors and door handles, were all replaced and look
great as they sit alongside trim and badges that also present
well.
The bed out back was painted to match the body and has a custom
vinyl Ranchero bed mat.
