17,925-Miles LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1979 Pontiac
Trans Am 10th Anniversary Edition The 1970s came to an end with
vast changes to performance car marketing over the previous decade,
and one of the most exciting cars from that concluding year was the
Silver Anniversary Pontiac Trans Am. Built specifically to
commemorate the 10th year of Trans Am packaging (first introduced
in 1969) , these limited-edition cars came loaded with nearly every
possible option as well as special features not offered to standard
buyers. The 10th Anniversary examples were specifically
identifiable, painted Platinum Silver with Charcoal Gray two-tone
lower paint accents and an oversized silver/gray bird graphic that
extended over onto the fenders; the finish here is original to the
car's release. Charcoal and red striping surrounds the body's
external accessories, and the 10th Anniversary Fisher T-tops came
with a special mirrored finish, as seen here. Beginning life at
GM's Van Nuys manufacturing facility and meeting its first owner at
Scott-Preusee Inc. in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, this pristine
Pontiac has been cared for over its lifetime and has only
accumulated 17,925 miles from new. Under the hood is the numbers
matching 400ci beneath the shaker scoop and four speed manual
transmission as part of the special W72 performance package. The
interior, which remains well-preserved here, featured unique silver
leather seats; this was the first- and only-time real leather was
made available on any second-generation Trans Am. The "turbo"
wheels here were specific to the 10th Anniversary this year, not
available on any other version of the Firebird until 1980. Beneath
this Trans Am, a clean and solid undercarriage tells the story of
42 years of excellent caretaking. This example comes highly
optioned which include power windows, power locks, air
conditioning, formula steering wheel, tilt steering column, power
deck lid, power antenna, four-wheel disc brakes, WS6 performance
package and much more! Included in the sale is the following
documentation: window sticker, copy of build sheet, owner's manual,
warranty booklet, factory accessory literature and more. Low
mileage examples like this 1979 10th Anniversary Trans Am are hard
