Vehicle Description
This 1988 Jeep Wrangler has been restored and upgraded to be like
no other you've likely seen before. After all, the first impression
shows investments in making it a rugged and fortified 4x4...and
that's what you love about these. There's even a powerful
fuel-injected V8 upgrade. But as you dig deeper, you're going to
find some unexpected luxury upgrades, like A/C and a power
convertible top. So you have a mean machine that knows how to be
premium, too.
This Wrangler gets it right from the first moment you see it. It
has the unmistakable silhouette of generations of tough 4x4s, but
there's a touch of extra everywhere you look. The red paint has
extra gloss from a quality application on a build that was
completed only 7,500 miles ago. There's a ton of extra rugged
upgrades, and they are all nicely contrasted in black. The front
bumper is a strong steel piece with a brush guard, and the hood is
louvered to let you know there's something powerful under it. The
sides have big fender flares to fit the upgraded Stealth wheels,
and in-between are fortified diamond plate rockers. And the rear's
steel bumper also holds a proper trailer hitch and a full-size
spare on a swing-away mount. While there has been a lot of
investment in the darkness of this Jeep, it also knows how to put
extra light on the roar/trail ahead with a full LED lighting
package.
The interior was carefully restored. For example, you have new
Bestop two-tone front seats that look terrific. And they not only
coordinate with the rear that coordinate with the rear seats but
also the panels in the hard doors and the upgraded center console.
So this looks like a uniform total package. This is a proper Jeep
with the right off-road features everywhere from the roll bar to
the thick rubber floor mats. But you also know this one was built
to be more comfortable. You have an upgraded sports steering wheel
on a tilt column, and the gauges are crisp white-faced units.
There's an AM/FM/CD stereo w/Bluetooth, cup holders, and
cold-blowing air conditioning. And among the upgraded switches on
the dash are one to raise and lower the roof. Yes, you don't have
to leave the driver's seat to take the top down in this one!
For versatile power and limitless potential, it's hard to beat a
Chevy small block 350 V8 with a four-bolt main. And you can tell
that this V8 is the heart for a full build. It has been upgraded
with Edelbrock fuel injection, C4 Corvette heads, a roller cam,
roller rockers, an MSD coil, an aluminum radiator, and shorty
headers feeding into the dual exhaust. The Jeep AX15 five-speed
manual transmission is an ideal mix on low-end first gear for
plenty of torque-filled starts, and this also has overdrive. The
gearbox, two-speed 4x4 transfer case, Dana 30 front end, and Dana
35 rear were all rebuilt as part of the upgrade to this Wrangler.
So it has a solid feeling on or off-road. Plus, power steering,
power brakes, and front discs are all part of a great go-anywhere
package.
The sale comes complete with build receipts and service manuals.
