Vehicle Description
We didn't know it back then, but this 2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans
Am was the last time we'd ever get a T/A from Pontiac. So it's
great to have such a highly-original and low-mileage example. And
this final-year car has everything you want, including a
fuel-injected V8, the rare six-speed, T-tops, and an affordable
price.
The Pewter Metallic paint appears to be the original factory
application. That's what we like to see on the last of the Trans
Ams, especially because it retains a nice luster in the sunshine.
In fact, the whole presentation reflects a cherished car that has
averaged only about 850 miles annually. So that also means a
terrific-looking body with well-fitting panels and the best
details, like the hidden headlights and well-integrated rear
spoiler. You can really find a clean and preserved style everywhere
from the weather-stripping to the shine on the 17-inch factory
alloys.
The Ebony black interior has a stylish look against the exterior
pewter, and it's also attractive just because low mileage means
little time to wear anything in. It's loaded with a ton of luxury
features in a driver-focused package. It starts with a leather
interior that includes power adjusting buckets up front, a power
driver's seat, and a center console in-between. You get a grippy
sports steering wheel with essential control built into it, and
beyond that is a full gauge package with a large speedo and tach.
Plus, there are power windows, power locks, keyless entry/alarm,
cruise control, tilt steering column, and a premium Monsoon
AM/FM/CD stereo with a seven-band equalizer. Beyond just luxury
features, a modern classic also means modern safety with dual
airbags and anti-lock brakes. Best of all, this has ultra-desirable
T-tops, and the ice-cold air conditioning means you get to stay
open to the world long into the summer.
The engine bay shows more of this car's great care. The
fuel-injected 5.7-liter LS1 looks so fresh that you still have all
the right decals. In fact, the undercarriage photos show what look
like the original factory markings on this ultra-clean setup. The
Ram Air WS6 package means you have a 325 hp juggernaut, and it's
mated to the desirable six-speed manual transmission - now with a
Hurst short-throw shifter. So while this is a collectible, we also
won't blame you for adding to the ultra-low odometer. And when you
do, you'll be glad this has the valuable WS6 performance
suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and modern ZR-rated performance
tires.
This car is powerful, loaded, affordable, and quite significant.
