For Sale: 1985 Chevrolet El Camino in Mesa, Arizona

Vehicle Description

This 1985 Chevrolet El Camino has an extra dose of attitude in its style, and there's a well-built small block upgrade to back that up, too. But while it wants to be a SS tribute, features like the overdrive transmission, air conditioning, and a comfy interior shows that it's an all-around great cruiser, too.

The SS badging announces that this El Camino wants to have a proper Super Sport style, and so black paint is the right place to start. After all, no color is meaner. And this darker style is done with good details, like the black tonneau cover and deeply tinted windows. It's nothing too fancy because the real reason to be sportier is to have some fun out on the streets. And pieces like the bright dual exhaust tips and upgraded torque thrust wheels show that kind of attitude, too. But an El Camino is also a true pickup, and so pieces like the liner paint in the bed and a proper trailer hitch make this quite a useful classic.

The interior keeps up the Super Sport feeling with the redline dash you'd seen in a Monte Carlo SS of the era. But while that gives the look and aggressive touch, what you'll really enjoy inside is all the comfort this one offers. You have a plush velour seat that can sit three across, or you can fold down the armrest for a more bucket-like individuality. Power windows, power locks, and an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo w/USB input make for a comfortable cruiser. The cold-blowing air condition was even recently serviced. Chevy's dual-spoke steering wheel is on a tilt column, and so that gives you a clear view of the full gauge package with large speed and tach.

Under the hood is proper V8 power. This has been upgraded later in life to a 350 cubic-inch crate V8 - a displacement larger than what the factory was offering in 1985. More than just added size, this has an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and a sweet-sounding H-pipe dual exhaust. This upgrade gives you an extra hit of power for all driving conditions. And a truck like this really was built to cruise. After all, it rides on a smoother car chassis and has power steering, power brakes, and front discs. You even have a four-speed automatic transmission with highway-friendly overdrive.

The sale comes complete with maintenance records and the owner's manual. This is Super Sport style in an all-around solid driving package. So at a price like this, you know you need to call today!
