Vehicle Description
Sharp, interesting, unique, and affordable: this 1965 Chrysler
Windsor is an appealing and large Mopar. This V8-powered hardtop
has distinct (and relatively low) actual mileage and a great story.
So you know it's that kind of irresistible cool cruiser you need in
your garage.
The legend of the Windsor is quite a cool one...literally. That's
because these specifically come from the Great White North. It's a
Canadian exclusive specifically named after the city where Chrysler
built these. So while it is a close relative to the Newport, this
one gives you a fun story to tell every time you take this out on
the streets. And this is the exact kind of car you're going to want
to cruise in all the time. After all, it's an extra-long coupe with
a sleek black attitude. In fact, the paint is ideal for a driver
because it has a shiny look at the stoplights, and a comprehensive
detail would even make it ready for those times you want to go to
larger shows than cars & coffee. But we really like the current
overall presentation that won't make you nervous about taking it
out for a long drive. After all, the half chrome headlights, tinted
windows, wide dual exhaust tips, and 20-inch Ridler wheels elevate
the street machine attitude. And the added shine of the polished
alloys complements well-presented factory brightwork, like the
intricate grille and those big chrome bumpers that are integral to
the car's form. And a particularly stylish touch is the trim line
that starts next to the headlights, and it runs along the body
crease as an almost unbroken line down the entire profile - even
concealing the door handles.
The red interior is a great color combo against the black exterior,
and so you'll roll down all the windows on this pillarless hardtop
with pride. This one upholds the image you want in a premium
Chrysler cruiser. That means two wide rows of bench seats with
great details, like the button-top seatbacks and comfy cloth
inserts. And this is the era when Chrysler didn't do anything
small, so you have serious room to spread out. It has an impressive
style, and while you might find touches of aging, that seems it be
in line with the full vintage vibe this one puts forward. That's
why there are fun details, like the working AM radio, clock, and
speedometer in MPH (this was built before Canada switched to
KM.)
Radiating from within the dark inner walls of the engine bay is a
period-correct 361 cubic inch V8. We have maintenance records
showing nearly $2,500 invested recently in the motor. It includes
the ignition coil, distributor, spark plugs, fuel filter, and a
rebuild kit on the four-barrel carburetor. It makes for a great
motor that fires up eagerly and makes a proper V8 tune out of the
H-pipe dual exhaust with Flowmasters. A good classic Chrysler is a
great cruiser, and so you have easy driving features like a
three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, upgraded sport
tires, and power brakes with a new master cylinder.
This level of size, presentation, and distinction is seldom this
affordable. So don't miss this rare Windsor hardtop. Call
