Vehicle Description
This 1953 Willys is a true wolf in Jeep's clothing. Because this
4x4 has the classic look of a military machine, but it's really a
fresh build done on a 1979 CJ7 chassis. The result is a classic
WWII military style, but with more power and even more off-road
capacity.
The full build of this machine was finished in 2019 and there have
been less than 600 miles since. So it has a fresh style. And this
is a steel body that has all the classic military Jeep pieces, like
the upright seven-bar grille, squared-off front fenders, and the
Willys name stamped into the front, hood, and tailgate. Like the
rope in-between the tow hooks of the front bumpers and a side step
to make the taller CJ chassis easier to get into. It's all dipped
in a fresh shade of green that makes this one look newly enlisted.
And while Jeeps aren't meant to be pretty, there is quite a nice
and coordinated look with the white wheels, white stars, and white
lettering at the base of the windshield identifying this as Sargent
Mayhem.
The interior is pure military Jeep cool with the seats that look
like they were made from duffel bag canvas. There are a few
well-integrated upgrades that make all the difference. A USB charge
lets you plug in everything from your iPhone to a flashlight, there
are rugged floor mats, and the front seatbelts are a welcomed
addition. The grenade shifter toppers are a bit of fun, and the
tilt steering column adds comfort. Plus, those crisp AutoMeter
gauges let you keep a good eye on what's going on under the
hood.
While the exterior has a bit of incognito style, the engine bay
doesn't try to hide its upgraded nature. After all, the CJ7's 258
cubic-inch inline-six has 50 percent more cylinders and nearly
double the displacement you got in the M38 that the one pretends to
look like. The motor was rebuilt during the restoration, and so you
have a fresh setup that loves to run. They even gave you upgrades
like the aluminum radiator. The three-speed manual transmission
gives you proper control over it all, and as you look underneath,
the fresh chassis gives you plenty of confidence. As a CJ7 chassis,
you have a lifted stance, a two-speed 4x4 transfer case, and you
can fit modern off-road tires. Plus, features like power steering
and front disc brakes are the kind of things you could only dream
of having on an old military Jeep.
This is a very cool kind of custom 4x4. So if you love a classic
Jeep and want real ability, this unique build is for you. Call
