Vehicle Description
Largely regarded as one of the best deals on performance cars, the
C5 Corvette is powered by a 5.7L V8 that produces a strong 350
horsepower. The V8 is mated to a smooth shifting automatic
transmission. All of this, along with four-wheel independent
suspension, and magnetic ride control make for a wonderfully
driving sports car. 2003 marked the 50th anniversary of the
Corvette and thus Chevrolet decided to add special emblems and
other features throughout the car to celebrate the impressive
achievement.
This example sports a Medium Spiral Gray Metallic exterior over a
Black Leather interior. Standard features included power locks,
power windows, Bose speakers, 6-way power sport seats, electronic
rear window defogger, cruise control, chrome plated exhaust tips,
and many more. In addition to the standard options, this Corvette
is equipped with the 1SB Preferred Equipment Group package that
includes electrochromatic mirrors, power telescoping and manual
tilt steering wheel, heads up display, and automatic headlights.
Also optioned were the polished aluminum wheels, body side
moldings, and transparent removable roof which replaced the
standard roof panel.
Introduced in 1997, the "C5" generation Corvette was a radical
styling departure from the angular C4s. In addition to looking more
contemporary, the C5 featured General Motors latest technology
including drive-by-wire throttle, variable-effort steering, and
optional magnetic selective ride control suspension. With an all
aluminum LS1 5.7l V8 and lightweight composite bodywork the C5
offered performance on par with contemporary Ferraris and Aston
Martins. A 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds and a 13.3 second quarter mile
