Vehicle Description
You're looking at the ultimate lead sled. This 1949 Mercury coupe
has the classic low and sleek lines you love, but you can also tell
there's something much more going on here. It's a true modern
cruiser with a fuel-injected LS1 motor, overdrive transmission, and
a luxury A/C interior. So dig into the details on a true custom car
icon that can take you comfortably near or far.
This Mercury has all the great traits of the legendary hot rods
like the frenched headlights, shaved door handles, seamless
two-piece windshield, louvered hood, sport mirrors, rocket-like
taillights, and lowered suspension. And of course, the body was
expertly chopped. They took out plenty of inches from the roofline
to give this a seductive silhouette that this iconic street machine
deserves. But our favorite custom element has to be the paint. The
deep Black Cherry has been expertly applied so that the curves of
the sheet metal are more like silk waving in the breeze. It's such
a great color that they even used for elements that are
traditionally chrome, like the bumpers and grille. And the result
really elevates the custom style. But this doesn't miss out on
brightwork. You now just pay extra attention to pieces like the
well-integrated exhaust tips and the 18-inch polished Foose
wheels.
Pop the remote door openers, and you are invited into a full
burgundy world. We love this color because it harmonies with the
deep red while still looking distinct. This is all done in supple
Ultraleather, and you have terrific custom details on the dash,
door panels, steering wheel, and headliner. So it's a thoughtful
build. We've mentioned how this is a car made for driving, and it's
also one for taking family and friends along. There's a ton of
legroom over two spacious rows of bench seats. But whenever you
want more individualized comfort, the front has a fold-down armrest
for bucket-like comfort. It's a full set up built around you with a
center console, Lokar floor shifter, a tilt column, and the cool
blue glow of the digital gauges. Plus, there are the right
features, like power windows, power locks, an upgraded stereo, and
cold-blowing air conditioning.
But your favorite modern upgrade of them all might just be under
the hood. The engine bay has award-worthy smooth inner walls that
gunnel your attention to the V8 in the middle. You've been upgraded
to a 5.7-liter fuel-injected LS1 motor. And the fun doesn't stop
there. It inhales better with a FAST 92mm intake manifold, and it
exhales with added power and authority from a header-fed dual
exhaust. As you look underneath, you'll see an upgraded Camaro
front end and traction bars in the rear. There's also power
steering, power brakes, front discs, Toyo sport tires, and a
four-speed automatic transmission w/highway-friendly overdrive.
Now you're starting to see how this is not just a terrific lead
sled, but also an all-around awesome cruiser. So if you want the
ultimate street machine that's also ready for the Power Tour, call
