1967 Shelby GT500 For Sale - Desirable Factory Nightmist Blue,
Rotisserie Restoration LMC is very proud to offer for sale this
1967 Shelby GT500 As the muscle era was heating up Chevrolet
released the all new Camaro, which called for an upgrade to the
Mustang to compete. As with before, Carroll Shelby was called upon
to ready to boost Mustangs performance reputation. The slightly
larger 1967 Mustang was the perfect platform to introduce big-block
power so the 428 CI Police Interceptor engine found its own home in
the GT500. Rated at 355 HP, the Police Interceptor had the same
performance camshaft that would later be used in the famed 428
Cobra Jet engine and employed dual-inline Holley 600 CFM 4-barrel
carburetors with progressive linkage and vacuum-actuated
secondaries on an aluminum intake manifold. To some it's the
ultimate muscle car/grand tourer, others love it for being the
first Mustang to be powered by the 428. While many others just love
it for the beautiful, powerful styling and Legendary name
associated with it. Whether you're a collector or enthusiast, and
whatever your reasoning, there is no denying that they are one of
the most iconic muscle cars of all time. As per the Shelby
registry, the example offered for sale was built on 05/26/67 and
then shipped to its original selling dealer Carey Paul Ford in
Decatur, GA. The original owner ordered his new GT500 in the most
collectible of all, Nightmist Blue. It is complemented by a Black
decor interior which remains one of the most sought-after color
combinations. It was equipped from the factory with a 4-speed
manual transmission, power steering and front disc brakes, the
interior decor group, fold-down rear seat, heavy duty battery,
special tires supplied by end manufacturer and the extra cooling
package. This Shelby received a complete rotisserie nut and bolt
restoration painted its factory correct Nightmist Blue with White
striping. The exterior paint has been wet sanded and polished to a
show finish. The Black Knitted Decor interior matches the rest of
this car for its pristine presentation, incorporating the one year
only wood-rimmed 3-spoke steering wheel, roll bar with inertia reel
harnesses, below-dash Stewart Warner oil and ammeter gauges and
8,000 RPM tach/140 speedo that were all part of the Shelby GT
treatment. Underneath is finished as it left the factory with red
oxide primer floor pans with body color overspray, correct paint
daubs and inspection markings. Under the hood, lies the 428ci
Police Interceptor engine which has been rebuilt to stock
specifications and is in excellent working order. Topped with the
factory pre-requisite dual quad Holley carbs, finishing the look of
the engine is a litany of correct markings, stickers and chalk
marks. This Shelby GT-500 is of course listed in the Shelby
Registry and comes with complete bulletproof documentation from
Marti Auto Works. Beautiful, detailed nut and bolt rotisserie
restoration, fully documented and well equipped are all the
