Vehicle Description
Vibrant paint, V8 power, and awesome drop-top appeal - this 1969
Pontiac Firebird convertible is quite attractive even before you
dig into all the details that prove this is a great way to cruise
with the wind in your hair.
The Verdoro Green keeps this drop-top distinctive, and the trim tag
tells us it's the factory-correct color. There's good luster and
shine that lets you know that it has been treated to a professional
respray later in life. This color has a darker tone, and so that
goes well with the newer black cloth roof. It also sets the tone
for the gunmetal Billet Specialties wheels. They're staggered 18/20
inches front/rear for an intimidating stance. That same sporty
feeling is seen on the dual scoop hood, dual exhaust tips, and
full-width rear spoiler. But this drop-top's full role isn't to be
the aggressor. All the darkness really sets this one up to see some
nice brightness on the wraparound rear bumper, trim, bezels, and
the unique front bumper that sharply pointed to give this Firebird
a true beak.
As much as we like the look with the roof in place, with the flip
of a switch, it powers down to reveal an even more attractive
interior. After all, the midnight green inside harmonizes with the
dark green on the outside. And the factory-correct green-on-green
style really gives this a great 1960s classic vibe. In fact, you'll
appreciate the vintage feel in the details - it's everywhere from
the texture of the carpeting to the space saver tire in the trunk.
And all that walnut-like trim on the dash is a great touch that
came on Pontiacs. The full atmosphere turns back the clock, and so
the only upgrade you're likely to recognize is the AM/FM digital
tuner w/cassette. It gives you better driving music, and that's
because this one was made to be enjoyed. It's a nice driver's
classic with well-done front bucket seats, a center console w/floor
shift, grippy three-spoke steering wheel, and even Pontiac's iconic
hood tach.
The engine bay has a terrific presentation with clean and dark
inner walls funneling your attention to the tidy block finished in
bright Pontiac turquoise. The fresh presentation of this 350
cubic-inch V8 translates to a motor that fires up readily and is
eager to hit the road. This has all the right features to be a
cruiser. There are classic components, like a three-speed automatic
transmission, power steering, power brakes, and front discs. And
upgrades like subframe connectors and modern sport tires give it
added confidence out on the streets.
This is a true classic drop-top with the right added pieces to make
it look a bit meaner and cruise a bit nicer. That makes for a great
total package that you need to get out on the road. Call
