original sales price of over $65,000 all the way back in 1987! This
gorgeous SL just came out of a loving 15 year ownership from a
gentleman who decided he was getting a little to old to keep the
car. Its was always garaged its entire life and it shows. The paint
and interior are near flawless. The seats look too dang good to be
original and I believe they are a high dollar GAHH German leather
replacements. This car has been driven extremely sparingly during
34 years of ownership.These low mile European classics are getting

The body on the car is in pristine condition and was extremely well
maintained. The car is finished in its gorgeous original Mercedes
color of Smoke Silver Metallic and is in awesome condition for all
original. The car is straight as an arrow and looks spectacular.
The car has been completely inspected underneath from front to back
and is solid as a rock as any collector car should be. The car is
riding on OEM Mercedes Alloy 15" wheels with the correct tires that
are still in good shape! The windshield is like new with no chips
and is the ORIGINAL glass with MB decals. The brown German Cloth
soft top is like new with no rips or ware. The hard top has good
seals and the headliner is in awesome shape. The interior is in
great shape all around. The dash and door panels are in like new
condition. The supple original creme beige leather seats are all in
very good condition and look very nice with no rips or ware lines,
which shows the quality of leather used in this car. The carpets
are all very nice are not worn or damaged. All dials and controls
function as they should, power windows and antenna also are fully
functional. Music is crisp and clear and not overwhelming. The
sound system definitely adds to the driving experience of this
roadster. All lights, gauges switches, and accessories work as they
should. This interior is in immaculate condition.
The trunk compartment is clean enough to eat from. The spare tire
compartment is clean as a whistle and the original spare tire is
present. Original jack is in place and the tool kit is even still
in the unopened bag.
Mechanically, this SL runs GREAT! The car starts right up and
shifts smooth as silk. It drives as good now as the day it rolled
of the lot. The V8 engine is surprisingly quick and responsive. It
is reliable, easy to fix, and parts are readily available. The car
was always regularly serviced and has been well documented by
carfax. Recently the car has benefitted from a new ac compressor
and transmission service. We also went ahead and did a standard
fuel system service and oil change. Under the hood is clean as a
whistle and looks like new. I just had the oil changed and the car
given a once over and its all ready to hit the road with the top
dropped!
All in all, this is one of the cleanest SL's that I have had the
privilege of being associated with. I truly feel it is one of the
nicest 560sl's and I will put it next to any of the lower mileage
examples and it will hold its own. It has been professionally
maintained and truly loved by its previous owner. This Mercedes is
a fantastic car for the price and includes every option offered in
