With its boxy styling and expansive greenhouse, the BMW E30 has
superior visibility for the driver and passengers. Building on its
roots (the infamous 2002), BMW replaced it with the 3-series in
1975, which was just in time to become the ultimate choice of
vehicle for those young, upwardly mobile professionals of the
1980s, aka Yuppies. This 1989 325i Sedan was built on November 22,
1988 in Germany and is offered in one of the most sought after
colors for the E30, Delphin Blue Metallic and this example only has
66,118 miles! Dressed in gorgeous Delphin Blue Metallic (code 184),
the car?s original paint and trim are in overall excellent
condition. The car?s body emains straight and solid after more than
30 years. The engine bay is very tidy, the shorter, body-colored
bumpers (new-for-?89) fit tightly to the body and are in overall
very good condition. This BMW rolls on Falken radials, size
185/70R14 at all four corners. Each tire is mounted to the optional
14? BBS basketweaves alloy wheels. The tires and wheels are all in
very good order. One of the features that added to the roominess of
the E30 was the suspension. The front MacPherson struts and rear
semi-trailing arm suspension were a compact arrangement that left a
lot of cabin and trunk space for the car's overall size. Under that
front-hinged hood is a 2.5L inline SOHC six-cylinder engine (code
M20B25) with Bosch Motronic fuel injection. Backing that motor is a
ZF four-speed automatic transmission (code 4HP22). Driver
convenience features include air-conditioning, power
rack-and-pinion steering, power four-wheel disc brakes with
anti-lock (ABS), cruise control, power windows, power door locks,
power sideview mirrors, power antenna and rear window defroster.
Additional items include a sunroof, fog lights, a tool roll in the
trunk and intermittent wipers, Bluetooth and remote locking. Since
this car is past the 60,000-mile mark, potential owners will be
happy to know it has had a timing belt kit installed recently with
the following new parts - timing belt, water pump, thermostat,
crankshaft and camshaft seals, belt tensioner and valve cover
gasket. Inside, the tan leather interior (code 192) is in overall
very good order. The front bucket seats look fantastic, as does the
rear bench seat. The tan carpet is in good, original order while
the leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel still looks iconic.
The black instrument panel with MotoMeter gauges is in very good
condition, as are the inner door panels. The center console and
shift lever are in similar shape. Above the rearview mirror is a
console of fiber optic warning lights for items such as washer
fluid, license plate light, brake lights and more. An aftermarket
AM/FM stereo with CD player rounds out the interior. Competition to
this E30 in 1989 included Alfa Romeo?s Milano, Buick?s Skylark
Limited, Chrysler?s LeBaron Turbo, Dodge?s Lancer ES Turbo, Honda?s
Accord, Mazda?s 626, Mercedes-Benz?s 190 E, Mitsubishi?s Galant,
Nissan?s Stanza, Oldsmobile?s Cutlass Calais and Toyota?s Camry. If
