In 1978 a brand new 911 model was introduced in the form of the Porsche 911 SC. The 911 SC was more refined, more driver friendly, more dependable and still out-performed every other car in its class. The 911 SC was Porsche's avenue to a more encompassing range of owners. The SC, which stands for "Super Carrera" was destined to be the last of the model 911 line as the all-new front-engined V-8 Model 928 was to take over as the flagship for the 1979 model year, but this plan was not to be.
