Vehicle Description
This 1973 Dodge Challenger is a full blackout package of pure
intimidation. And under the hood is a 383ci V8 to back up its looks
(yes that's a '70 front clip). But as you check out the full
package, you'll appreciate how this stout-looking coupe is also a
strong runner.
This coupe has chrome bumpers, complete trim, and an awesome set of
polished Cragar SS wheels. But it's not the brightwork that really
captivates you...it's the dark side. After all, the only way to
make a mean Mopar meaner is by painting it flat black. It covers
the car in a certain type of flair usually reserved for hot rods.
So the overall impression of the car keeps to that standard and
looks like It could enjoy a few blacktop battles. And attitude
serves this car quite well. After all, you have the dual scoop
hood, full-width rear spoiler, and cool gloss black R/T stripes to
keep the muscle car meanness going. And there's even a black vinyl
roof to show how much of a full midnight package this really
is.
The interior continues the full blackout style. Those who know
Mopars can appreciate the level of vintage presentation. Still,
there are some good details for those who like upgrades, like the
AM/FM digital tuner w/cassette and this appears to have been a
factory air conditioning car (it will need components and servicing
to function again.) But the real purpose here is to have a driver's
machine. That's why you have high-back front bucket seats and the
center console is formed around you. There's a nice grip to the
classic Mopar three-spoke steering wheel, and beyond that is the
full round gauge package featuring the large tach.
Under the hood is some serious Mopar muscle. The 383 cubic-inch
V8's big red block seems to be radiating with power from within all
that darkness. It's a tidy setup with a four-barrel carburetor,
Offenhauser intake, MSD plug wires, Holley cast valve covers,
Hooker long tube headers that add power and rumble to the newer
Flowmaster dual exhaust. It fires up eagerly like a muscle car that
wants to hit the road. And that's easy to do with features like
power steering, power brakes, and a stout but smooth Torqueflite
A727 three-speed automatic transmission. You even have new Goodyear
tires.
Here's an extra-mean muscle car icon with a proper V8 under the
hood. This is an irresistible coupe, especially at this price. Call
