Vehicle Description
STK 2969 1982 Jeep Scrambler CJ 8
The Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler was a long wheelbase version of the CJ-7.
The wheelbase was extended to 103 inches and featured a pick-up
style box behind the rear seat. Introduced in 1981 and manufactured
through 1986, fewer than 30,000 total units were produced and there
are few nice CJ-8s around today. This 1982 Jeep Scrambler is a
fully restored example of a rare CJ-series. It was professionally
built 10 years ago by a Custom Car/Rod builder and has been driven
only about 850 miles since the restoration. (The work done was very
extensive and a large packet of restoration receipts is included
with the Jeep.) Our CJ-8 body was bead blasted and refinished in
Deep Metallic Blue and it is sharp. All body and floor pans are
solid and the bed has been fitted with a heavy-duty multi-point
roll bar. Both front and rear bumpers are chrome, sidestep bars
have been installed and the cab roof is equipped with a 4-light
bar. Inside, the bucket seats have been reupholstered in black
leather and there is a center console. Other features include a
Kenwood AM/FM/CD sound system, custom leather door cards, new door
hardware, new gauges and molded carpets. This Scrambler is said to
be powered by an AMC 360ci V8 that has been carefully built and
fitted with an Edelbrock intake, dual-feed Holley 4V, cam, tube
headers and custom Flowmaster exhaust that exits in arrears. It
sounds strong. The transmission is a 4-speed manual mated to a
2wd-4wd/Hi-Lo transfer case (likely a Dana 300) and manual front
hubs. Most components of the leaf spring suspension have been
refreshed and lift kit has been added along with coil-over shocks
and a front sway bar. The CJ8 has power steering and power brakes
with new front rotors and rear drums. A poly fuel tank has been
installed. Stunning Cepek alloy wheels mount new 33x250Rx15LT BFG
Mud-Terrain radial tires. This CJ-8 is ready for the new owner who
will appreciate the great look and muscle of this rare Jeep. ALL
