Vehicle Description
I have personally owned this car for a little over a year. I
purchased as a project car to build with my son. I was looking for
a clean E30 convertible (preferably in alpine white) to do an S52
or S54 engine swap and add a manual transmission. This car seems to
have a great body and appears to be original paint. Convertible top
has a bad back window but the car comes with a new top and tension
straps that will need to be installed. The top is a factory manual
top. Nice Alpina wheels but I do not have the key to remove
them.
Interior is decent but will need work. Factory heated leather sport
seats. Power windows work. Air conditioning is all hooked up but
does not work. Speedometer, fuel gauge and temp gauge seem to work
but tachometer and odometer do not. True miles unknown. Crack in
windshield.
When I bought the car it did not have a key or battery, like I
said, I bought it for the body. I brought it home and had a key
made and installed a battery and it started right up. At that point
I put it in storage until I could find a suitable drivetrain donor.
Unfortunately, it looks like we are not going to do anything with
it so it is time to move it on to someone who will. I pulled it out
of storage last week and drove it around a little bit and was
impressed. Seems to run pretty good. Brakes are good. Passed smog
check with no problems. Currently registered with a clean
California title in my name.
I purchased this car as a non-running project car. I do not know
how many miles it has. I do know there are a few new parts on the
engine like mass air sensor, starter and a few other things.
Muffler looks new. Looks like it has newer brake lines with
stainless braided lines in the front. Sorry, I don't know anything
about the history of the car mechanically, etc. Selling as a
smogged, registered, clean title project car. Private party sale.
