Vehicle Description
This 1960 Chevrolet Bel Air has a great vintage style on the
outside, a brand new fresh interior, and well-done big block power.
That's what makes this curvy classic an absolutely irresistible
total package.
For many, this is one of the best years to get a classic Chevy.
1959 models were a bit too daring for some, so when General Motors
took some time to scale it back, the result was both unique and
handsome. It has all the best features that remind you of the early
1960s. The jet age was in full swing, and you can easily see it
with the jet-fighter sweeping side trim. The large chrome bumpers
leave a lasting impression as they wrap around the sheet metal. And
the tailfins were so huge that they had to be laid on their side!
It resulted in one of the most artful trunk designs ever made. It's
all presented in a very cruiser kind of package where everything is
clean and complete, but it's out to be a true driver. Some may want
to use the value price to add personal touches or a respray of the
classic Ermine White paint. However, it's already quite attractive.
The 18-inch Boss wheels with lowered stance and extra meaty rear
tires combine with this current presentation to give this one a bit
of a cool/sleeper vibe.
When you open the door, the inside is quite a bit more upfront
about the car's upgraded nature. This is a brand new interior. You
get the impression that there was plenty of investment here to make
sure everything felt coordinated and fresh. It starts with
great-looking black seats with stylish houndstooth cloth inserts.
The door panels were even done to match. Plus, the carpeting,
headliner, sun visors, and dash all have a fresh and dark feel to
give you an overall feeling of quality. You'll love slipping behind
the artful steering wheel, and the full round gauge package is
crisp and clear. And since this is the kind of car you're going to
want to drive, they even added an AM/FM/CD stereo w/aux input in
the glovebox for upgraded driving music.
Under the hood is the right mix of history and upgrades.
Chevrolet's biggest big block in 1960 was the 348 cubic-inch V8.
And since the trim tag tells us this was born a V8 Bel Air, it's
great to have this upgrade under the hood. It has been enhanced
with a Holley four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock Performer
intake. And the newer dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers gives
it a sweet tune. This is also supported by the right pieces you
want in a consistent cruiser. This includes an MSD billet
distributor, Taylor plug wires, an electronic, ignition, separate
trans cooler, and a Be Cool aluminum radiator w/electric fan. Add
in a Powerglide automatic transmission, power steering power
brakes, front discs, newer springs, and modern sport tires - and
now you know why it makes for an awesome cruiser.
