Vehicle Description
You're looking at a real-deal 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS396, but
this icon of American muscle has been enhanced with triple-deuce
big block power. So it's hard not to love an upgraded monster motor
with four-on-the-floor that's all contained within a premium and
slick pillarless hardtop.
We're told this car was given a frame-off restoration, and it
certainly has that kind of thoughtful style. The '66 Chevelle's
flying buttress C-pillars make it a true sophisticate. So that
seems to be amplified with premium details, like the black vinyl
roof. Supers-straight sheet metal and bright chrome bumpers show
more of a solid investment in keeping this looking first-class. But
this is also a real-deal SS396, and so there's a sporty side. The
paint balances that out well with its dark red metallic. After all,
there are deeper tones than a candy apple hue, but it's still quite
bold and vibrant. This was the first year for the Super Sport as
its own separate model, and this coupe wears its unique pieces with
pride, including the blacked-out grille, hood vent trim, ribbed
rockers, and all the correct badging - right down to the Super
Sport fender scripts. And this one shows off some added performance
and flair with the bright racing style wheel with extra meaty rear
tires.
We love it when the vinyl top matches the interior color. Not only
does it make for a great uniform appearance, but also it's another
sign of a thoughtful restoration. This handsome bucket seat
interior perfectly captures this Chevelle's comfortable and
performance dual-purpose nature. The seats, door panels, and
carpeting have that kind of crisp black appearance that makes us
believe there was quite a nice investment in the interior. There's
plenty of room for family and friends in this coupe, but the driver
is always the priority. You have a wood-rimmed sports steering
wheel, upgraded auxiliary gauges, a large AutoMeter tach, and that
Hurst shifter is just calling out for your right hand.
You'll love lifting the hood at car shows because this special
motor was made to be shown off. It has terrific details like the
smooth inner fenders, plenty of polished components, and even the
engine block was painted to coordinate. You even still have the
classic washer refill bottle mounted to the fender! This lives up
to the SS396 name with a 396 cubic-inch big block, but those three
air grabbers tell you this one is extra special. It has a triple
set of dual-barrel Holley carbs, and Chevy never offered the SS396
with triple deuces from the factory! This awesome big block is
supported by all the right pieces, like an aluminum radiator, steel
braided lines, and a full MSD ignition package. Plus,
ceramic-coated long tube headers add extra power and rumble to the
dual exhaust. You're in complete control of this monster motor and
its high octane symphony thanks to the four-speed manual
transmission. This feeds a strong 12-bolt Moser rear end. And power
steering, power brakes, and front discs make it a solid all-around
driver.
This is the kind of complete muscle car built that you've always
loved. Now is your fleeting opportunity to go from admiring to
admired. Call now!
