Vehicle Description
The 1965 Ford Fairlane 500 was a unique style for this year. And it
only gets better on a V8-powered Sports Coupe that has been treated
correctly to make for a terrific cruiser.
This car has been under the same care for the past seven years. We
have a long list of solid investments over that period, and it
looks like the first thing he did was the paint. This is the
factory-correct Prairie Bronze, and it has a quality gloss and
shine. The pillarless hardtop now has the added distinction of
being finished in white, and the way it coordinates with the insert
in the full-length trim gives an added sophistication that seems
right on an upper-level Fairlane 500. The fundamentals were taken
care of with investment in straight body panels, newer trim
emblems, and having the bumpers re-chromed in late 2015. And
because this is a Sports Coupe, it looks absolutely sporty with its
Kelsey-Hayes-style wheels.
The factory-correct interior looks good with the deep and dark
color of more recent investments. As you peek inside, you'll also
instantly see what makes the Sports Coupe so special. This gave you
a beautifully trimmed bucket seat with an artful center console
in-between. Even the rear seats are done with this special style
and insignia trim. Not only is this attractive, but also the Sports
Coupe was over three times rarer than the standard Fairlane 500
hardtop. So this coupe has rarity and distinction. It's the kind of
car you'll want to roll down all the windows on the pillarless
hardtop and go for a drive. That's why this one also has better
cruising music. You have upgraded sound insulation, a retro-style
AM/FM digital tuner, and upgraded stereo speakers.
Another reason this is such a great driver is because of what's
under the hood. Ford' 289 cubic-inch V8 is great at being powerful
and ready for upgrades. This one has already been enhanced with an
Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Offenhauser intake, and newer
long tube headers. It fires up nicely and makes a sweet tune out of
the upgraded X-pipe dual exhaust. As a true driver, you have power
steering, a three-speed automatic transmission, and upgraded front
disc brakes.
The sale comes complete with build receipts and restoration photos.
This is the distinctive-year Fairlane that also has the look of
distinction inside and out. It makes for a great cruiser that you
