Vehicle Description
1966 Ford Mustang Coupe
Why This Vehicle is Special
The first generation Mustangs created a whole new type of car that
America was waiting for, the Pony Car.
It had styling with a long hood and short deck, was sporty, and was
in the buying range that a lot of people, both you and old could
buy.
The 1966 red Mustang Coupe we have here at Skyway Classics is also
a great buy for all you collectors as it has a great V8, flashy red
paint and black racing stripes, and has been restored too.
Mechanical
The engine in our Mustang is a 289 cubic inch V8 with over 200 200
horsepower from the factory and looks great with the Ford blue
paint on the engine block, aluminum intake, chrome finned valve
covers, chrome lid on the air cleaner assembly with the 289 High
Performance decal in place, custom aluminum radiator with electric
fans to keep it running cool, chrome alternator, and modified
electronics.
It sits in the clean and detailed engine compartment looking just
as it would have back in that period and is backed by an automatic
transmission.
Interior
The interior is all restored and looks as nice as it did when it
was brand new. It has the factory twin black Mustang vinyl buckets
up front and the matching black rear seat, dash, seat belts,
carpet, floor mats, and door panels.
It also has a chrome Mustang three spoke sport steering wheel, the
factory black instrument panel that has all the correct factory
gauges, and features a 120 mph speedometer and an aftermarket Sun
Pro tachometer.
The trunk has also been given a factory look with the factory
correct trunk mats, a Mustang fender cover, and the full-size spare
tire with the jack and handle too.
Exterior
Our Mustang has that bright red paint job on those iconic Mustang
lines and accented by the full length black racing stripes from the
lower front all the way to the top of the rear bumper.
It has the blacked out grille and out back the unique fuel filler
cap on the panel between the tail lamps, with dual exhaust exiting
underneath.
Our Mustang rides on the chrome aftermarket wheels on BF Goodrich
Radial TA performance tires with this wheel and tire combination
totally giving it the classic pony car look.
Conclusion
The 1966 Red Mustang we have here at Skyway Classics has great
looks, outstanding performance, and it is one of those Mustang
coupes that have become as collectable as any other car, and
probably more so in the future.
