Vehicle Description
For those of you who like Mustangs, rarity, or just dig the look of
Grabber Orange, this 2007 Ford Mustang Cragar Special Edition will
surely light your fires. Officially the #0002 car of a very limited
run, it's one of those unique Mustangs that's as functional as it
is beautiful. With an attention-grabbing, retro appearance package
that harkens back to when Cragar first ruled the aftermarket wheel
market, and the hardware underneath to back-up those good looks,
this unique specialty Pony pays homage to the past in a super-cool
way.
Limited edition Mustangs are nothing new, but when a legendary
company like Cragar puts its considerable resume behind it, well,
you know the results will be something special. The goal was to
give the car a nostalgic feel that brings us back to the '70s when
Cragar wheels were the kings of the road. With that in mind,
Grabber Orange was the only color imaginable for such an
undertaking, and it looks amazing on the 5th generation livery. A
special polyurethane body kit was manufactured by Kaminari
purposely for this car, which included body-colored fender flares,
matte black side and rear skirts, and a special front chin spoiler
- all of which are affixed with stainless-steel torque screws. A
gigantic (and functional) hood scoop was also added, and mounted
atop a gloss black hood it's very reminiscent to the style of the
1970 Boss Mustang, as are the special black decals and the rear
window louvers. If you're going to pay tribute to Cragar, why not
mimic one of the greatest Mustangs of all-time while you're at it,
right? Keen observers will also notice that the stock Mustang front
bumper was tossed in favor of a custom piece, and it includes a
horizontal grille that matches the main grille right above it,
complete with a special Cragar Special Edition badge. Like Cragar,
this Mustang seems to do everything well, with a balanced approach
to performance that gives up none of the stock Mustang's
user-friendly nature. The brilliant Grabber Orange paint is
definitely distinctive, but if there's any car that can wear it,
it's a Mustang. Used mostly as a show and demonstration car with
only 14,926 actual miles, it's been maintained in top condition
since it was finished and shows only very minor signs of use
acquired in the 14 years that it's been on the road. Man, this baby
is sweet!
It's pretty hard to do much better than the factory's beautiful
black leather interior, so the guys in charge of building these
Cragar Specials only added details rather than reinventing the
wheel. Black leather buckets are supportive enough for performance
driving, but you can travel cross-country without getting bunched
up, too. There's a Cragar Special Edition serialized plaque on the
dash that proves this is #2 of a limited edition, an uber-cool
cue-ball shift knob with a Cragar badge on the side, a satin silver
dash panel, and special Cragar logo floor mats. Other than those
special niceties, the designers employed great restraint and
refrained from covering the interior with any further
advertisements, making the cabin a much more comfortable place in
which to spend some time. Stock Mustang GT options include factory
A/C, power everything, title wheel, cruise control, multiple
airbags, and a booming Shaker AM/FM/CD/AUX stereo that sounds
fantastic. The rest of the Mustang's factory goodness remains
undisturbed, complete with stock gauges, all the usual comfort and
convenient features, and a gorgeous leather-wrapped steering wheel
at the head of the cockpit. Even the trunk is beautifully finished,
and it looks like it's never been used to hauling anything heavier
than a 1st place trophy.
The Cragar Mustang's 4.6 liter V8 engine is largely stock, with
plenty of factory GT power designed to build power without
sacrificing drivability. Obviously, there's a lot of Hugger Orange
paint in the engine bay, so you'll definitely want to park it with
the hood open, but functional upgrades include special hood struts,
a boosted respiratory system that utilizes a cold air intake set-up
along with that giant hood scoop, along with a custom axle-back,
stainless-steel dual exhaust system that sounds spectacular.
Everything else under the hood is bone-stock, and it's incredibly
clean thanks to years of dutiful care from car's two owners.
Underneath, Cragar Big Blue performance brakes with upgraded
calipers and drilled/slotted rotors give it impressive stopping
abilities and the 5-speed manual transmission is hitched to a set
of sporty gears, so acceleration is explosive at any speed.
Crouching on shiny aluminum SS Series Cragar wheels and 255/45/18
Nitto performance tires, it's the kind of car nobody wants to
tangle with on the streets.
Sure, you could buy a garden-variety Shelby or Roush, but with the
legendary Cragar name behind this Mustang GT, this one has a legit
pedigree that's just a little different from the other guys. Call
