For Sale: 1969 Ford Mustang in Mesa, Arizona

Vehicle Description

The 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is one of the baddest-looking street machines of all time. But finding one this unique is the true treasure. It has a rare color combo (and we have the Marti Report to prove it.) And you'll find terrific upgrades throughout, like four-wheel disc brakes, a Bluetooth radio, and fuel-injected added to the correct V8.

The fastback body style already makes this one distinct and desirable, but it's the unique details that really make it irresistible. Lime Gold is this coupe's original color, and the Marti Report shows that this was one of only 388 cars with this color and options (that's only about .13 percent of the total production!) So a special car like this was taken back to bare metal in 2013 before being given a quality respray. So today you have a modern clearcoat that has a nice luster. The green also goes well with the dark details of the aggressive Mach 1. The blackout hood, hood scoop, wide chin spoiler, and full stripe package on the sides and rear. Plus, there are plenty of more sporty details, like the Borla dual exhaust notched in the rear valance, hood pins, and classily aggressive American Racing competition-style Torq Thrust wheels.

Ford was going upmarket with the Mustang at this time, and a great way to showcase that is with a creamy white interior. The seats look pristine, the door panels are nice, the headliner is taut, and the newer black carpeting can hide any dirty shoes. The wood-rimmed steering wheel coordinates the paneling on the dash, console, and doors, which all adds to the upscale ambiance of the Mach 1. In total, you'll love the investment that was made in this coupe, because it looks like a time machine taking you back to 1969 with all the correct details - right down to the courtesy lights. There is a modern upgrade to an AM/FM digital tuner with Bluetooth, but the retro-style unit was a careful addition so it wouldn't spoil the vintage atmosphere.

This M-code Mustang left the factory with a 351 cubic-inch V8, so it's great to see the believed to be original one so nicely presented still under the hood (a correct date code and partial VIN match.) More than just vintage, this has the tidy look of a proper investment. And there are cool details, like the long pony air grabber and coordinating finned valve covers. But what you'll really like is the added power in this V8. It was bored over to 360ci total. It also has a Holley electronic fuel injection system, Edelbrock intake, and heads feeding the dual exhaust. Investments in this motor also meant an investment in good fundamentals, like a newer alternator, good hoses, an electronic distributor, and an aluminum radiator w/electric fan. So it's not only powerful but also a solid total power package. That's why there have been other upgrades like a newer three-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel power disc brakes. Add in power steering and wide BF Goodrich T/As, and you just know it's time to hit the road.
