1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible
From the radically curved "wraparound" windshield to the "X" frame construction, the 1957 Cadillac was all new for the GM lineup. It was engineered to maintain the Cadillac motto "Standard of the World." The new frame allowed the Cadillac to have a lower stance and enhanced its beauty as well.
Stylists working under the direction of GM design chief, Harley Earl, made the '57 Eldorado much more special than any preceding editions. The softly curved sections of the body- front to back- were inspired by GM's Motorama show cars. Special Sabre-spoke wheels, including the spare, and a special grille were standard features on the Eldorado Biarritz convertible as well as a fiberglass "parade" boot in body color to cover the top when down.
Standard equipment on the Eldorado included everything GM offered from full power equipment, power seats, to the optional E-Z eye tinted glass. When new, the Biarritz listed about $7200.
This Eldorado is powered by its original number matching 365 ci OHV engine, completely rebuilt top to bottom by a professional restorer. The attached pictures show how complete the rebuild was done. It develops 325 bhp at 4,800 rpm's and is fueled by the original twin 4-Barrel Carter Carburetor setup. The body was stripped to bare metal and finished in its original color of Elysian green metallic. All of the chrome and trim have been refinished to high standards . The complete black and white leather interior(code 10) is fresh and is virtually new. . I believe it is a very solid and preserved rare '57 Eldorado. Priced at $149,000. Thanks for looking.
