Vehicle Description
Porsche's 996 GT3 was the first production car to complete the 12.9
mile lap of the Nordschleife in less than eight minutes. It was
also the first water-cooled 911 with a top speed of over 186 mph.
The 996 GT3 was released in Europe a couple of years ahead of
entering the US market. In the US, we got the 996.2 starting in
2004, with a 3.6-liter engine cranking out 381 HP. The car can
deliver a 0-60 mph time in less than 4.5 seconds. Sure, its not as
quick as a current GT3, but there are no computer nannies to save
you if you get it wrong, only ABS. And for its time, the technology
within the 996 GT3 motor was phenomenal: dry-sump lubrication,
variable valve timing, titanium connecting rods, and the ability to
rev to 8,200 rpm. If you want to drive a completely analog feeling
GT car with a fair bit of torque off bottom, the 996 GT3 ticks that
box. The 996 GT3 offered by Driven was built on May 1st, 2004 and
had an original MSRP of $102,750. Options are black leather
interior, black seat belts, xenon headlamps, metal door sill
insignia, cruise control, and AC. Previous owners have added a GMG
harness bar in the rear cabin, wheel studs instead of lugs, pinned
coolant lines, and ceramic coated exterior paint. It has a fresh
service: engine oil and oil filter, spark plugs, air filter, and
brake flush. This 996 GT3 would make a great entry point for any
Porsche enthusiast shifting into the GT series for collection,
weekend drives, or track use.
