Vehicle Description
Superformance MKII SPFR0002 is a tribute to CSX2323, the famous 289
FIA Shelby Cobra finished in Shelby Viking Blue with team race
livery. This MKII was designed to emulate one of the five Cobra
roadsters that were built to compete for the FIA World
Manufacturers GT Championship; in 1965 they helped snatch the crown
from Ferrari. Every detail of this race proven MKII was properly
addressed to accurately replicate the look, sound and feel of a
full competition FIA Shelby Cobra.
Pumping out 450 horsepower, SPFR0002 is powered by a 331 cid small
block, built by Keith Craft Racing and mated to an original-style
Borg Warner T10 4-Speed transmission. The MKII 'FIA' chassis is of
the original John Tojeiro-designed 3? tubular rail ladder with
transverse-leaf springs. It was reproduced using drawings obtained
from AC cars and implements well-thought-out improvements to
utilize a rack & pinion steering system and features Heim joints
fitted with adjustable rod ends and with poly bushings for a more
comfortable ride.
The cockpit of this competition car is outfitted with an original
FIA-style instrument panel layout with Stewart-Warner gauges,
passenger-side speedometer and correct Sunn-Pro tachometer as used
on CSX2323. German factory leather upholstered seats are included,
but the driver-side currently has a period-correct racing seat
installed. Other options include a chromed fire extinguisher, trunk
lid with 'correct' suitcase clearance bumps and bungee cord
grommets.
SPFR0002 is titled out of Texas as a 2012 Cobra with 3,266 miles
and is available for $99,950.
