Vehicle Description
Classic pickup surviving most recently out of California for the
past 11 years! Powered by its original 402ci V8 big block and
automatic transmission! Power disc brakes, power steering, air
conditioning, and more! This Cheyenne 10 Super long bed was
frame-off restored in the mid-1990's and continues to impress!
Superb driver!
One of the fastest growing and almost unnoticed portions of the
collector car market is the collector pickup truck segment. More
and more of these trucks are showing up at high line auctions as
well as finding their way to overseas collections. These pieces of
Americana represent some of the best built vehicles produced at the
time and continue to rise in value and desirability.
This 1972 Chevrolet Cheyenne 10 Super pickup was refinished in the
mid-1990's from a complete frame-off restoration! It wears a
high-gloss Midnight Black exterior and matching Black interior!
This included new seat upholstery and padding, headliner, carpet &
padding, sun visors, door panels, and gauge bezel! The gauges are
all functional with cold air conditioning, all lights, horn,
wipers, etc. Exception can only be given to the original AM/FM
pushbutton radio as being non-functional. Features and options on
this pickup include original, date-code correct 402ci V8- 4bbl
engine and Turbo-Hydramatic 400 automatic transmission, Four
Seasons air conditioning, heavy duty springs, power disc brakes,
power steering, padded dash, 15" rally wheels with brand new BF
Goodrich Radial T/A white letter radials, chrome bumpers, 12-bolt
rear axle, and dual stainless exterior trailering mirrors!
The appearance continues to present very well with some fatigue to
the upper paint surfaced while in California, but it continues to
drive outstanding without complaint! The formerly rebuilt engine is
still fitted with its original 1972 date-coded Quadrajet carburetor
(7042218) that was more recently rebuilt in 2015. A newer
shortened, dual exhaust from the original manifolds back to the
axle has been fitted along with new shocks at all four corners, and
the air conditioning has already been converted to R134a for easy
maintenance all contributing to a splendid road truck. The chrome
bumpers, door handles, mirrors, lower exterior wood trim and
emblems, headlight and taillight bezels, and doorsill plates remain
like-new! The same can be said for the window glass and seals
throughout the cab as for the weather stripping on the doors. A
remarkable solid body, floors, and chassis!
This truck has been maintained by only two careful owners since
1990! Make no mistake, this is a very special, factory big block
truck that would be hard to duplicate at our asking price. More
recent servicing this spring 2021 by the St. Louis Car Museum
included all new tires, power steering pump assembly, new brake
hoses with system bled, new front sway bar bushings, door lock
cylinders, air conditioning compressor o-rings & recharged system,
fresh engine oil & filter, fully lubed chassis, new fuel cap, and a
few other smaller service items. Included with the sale will be a
rubber protective bed mat, storage car cover, and original owner's
manual. It runs and drives terrifically! Buy with great confidence
and please feel free to call with any questions!
