Vehicle Description
Slick paint, a feature-filled A/C interior, and a fuel-injected LS1
upgrade under the hood all make this awesome. And because this
restomod is made out of an icon like the 1966 Pontiac GTO means you
know this hardtop is built to go everywhere and also command
everyone's attention.
This is an iconic year for the GTO, and this restomod really knows
how to show off the best pieces. It starts with the dark candy
apple red paint. It's a custom color with a nice clearcoat luster
and metallic tone. So it really radiates as the sunlight shows off
the straight sheetmetal and flying buttress rear. The hood scoop is
more distinct with the custom GTO graphics, and the stacked
headlights grab a ton of attention with the crystal clear lenses.
And since this build has only about 5,600 miles on it, the
brightwork is gleaming. There's a nice hint of dark side in this
one, too. It starts with the full length black pinstripe that shows
off the Coke-bottle curves and even has a custom LS1 callout.
There's also the blackout GTO grille, tinted windows, and upgraded
torque thrust wheels done in black.
All the black accents of the exterior get your ready for the full
black interior. And this restored setup is a nice mix of vintage
and new. The upholstery has a fresh and clean look, but it's done
in the classic Pontiac pattern. And there's also plenty of classic
details, including on the working dome light and a bright center
console. But features like cold-blowing R134a air conditioning and
an AM/FM/CD/DVD touchscreen receiver w/Bluetooth are set in a
carbon fiber dash panel for a very modern and comfortable
experience. Front bucket seats with shoulder seatbelts, a
wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a full set of Dolphin gauges are
all there to get you ready for a true driver's coupe.
Under the hood is a well done upgrade. The 5.7-liter LS1 is a great
fuel-injected powerhouse. And there's even some history here since
the final-gen GTOs had LS1 power. This modern motor has a tidy
setup, and you can even see good details like the serpentine belt
system and an aluminum radiator w/electric fan. The custom engine
covers match the smooth firewall and exterior for a cool style. But
as good as this looks, a motor like this was all about making a
better driver. It fires up readily like a good modern FI machine
should. The dual exhaust has a nice low rumble for everyday fun,
and there are even cutouts if you want to really bring the thunder.
You've got a good suspension setup with newer bushings, boxed rear
trailing arms, and sway bars front & rear. Plus, there's power
steering, power brakes, front discs, and a four-speed automatic
transmission w/overdrive to make enjoying this restomod always
easy.
This is the true GTO that has been upgraded to truly fulfill your
