Vehicle Description
This 2004 Nissan 350Z Turbo takes the modern Z-car and did what you
wish the factory did all along: add some serious turbocharged
power. It takes this sharp-handling and loaded sports coupe from a
fun machine to a true quarter mile king.
Silverstone is an ideal color. After all, silver is one of those
timelessly appealing paints, and this has a high-gloss finish that
loves to radiate in the sunshine. Nissan designed a car that
enthusiasts were waiting for. It took the classic silhouette of the
original 240Z and updated it for modern times. The result is the
right balance of retro-cool and plenty of modern substance. You see
all of this so well because this coupe retains quite a stock style.
Call it a sleeper, or just good respect, but there is a fundamental
appeal where in a modified car that doesn't mess around too much
with Nissan's exacting build standards. And while a modern classic
isn't chrome-heavy, everything from the clear headlights to the
upgraded 18-inch Enkei wheels seem to give it the right amount of
flair.
The first impression of the interior is just of a handsome and
loaded coupe. It starts with bucket seats that are finished in
supple leather and have the right bolstering for all-day comfort.
They even are heated and yours power adjusts. There are more great
features, like power windows, power locks, keyless entry/alarm,
cruise control, power mirrors, dual front airbags, and provisions
for air conditioning (it will need servicing to blow cold again.)
Plus, the stereo has been upgraded to an AM/FM/CD touchscreen with
USB and Bluetooth. The tilt steering column moves with the gauges
to always give you an excellent view, and the three auxiliary
readouts on top of the dash are a nice nod to the original Z-cars.
Plus, those added gauges on the A-pillar remind you that this one
is something extra special.
The 350 in 350Z represents the fuel-injected 3.5-liter V6. This VQ
line of engines have a hardy reputation, and Nissan even
turbocharges them for performance applications in Japan. It's a
little more difficult with the 350Z, because there wasn't much room
left in the engine bay. So to get this extra power, the
turbocharger was professionally installed at the rear. It was a $6k
investment alone when the work was performed less than a year ago.
And that's just the tip of the investments. The exhaust system was
upgraded, including headers, for this new setup. And everything
from the injectors to the a 3200 stall and shift kit on the
transmission are there to really maximize its performance. The
result is a dyno proven 500+ horsepower car that still has some of
the everyday sensibilities of a Nissan. After all, you still have a
grand touring car with a fully independent suspension, a five-speed
automatic transmission, and an upgraded four-wheel power disc brake
package. And while this still runs on pump gas, when you mash the
pedal to the floor, you unleash something worthy of the
dragstrip.
The sale comes complete with the owner's maul, dyno sheet, and
plenty of build receipts. This is everything you love about
Nissan's Z-car, and now with some serious added power in the mix.
