Vehicle Description
Welcome to StreetDreamsTexas as we celebrate our 22nd year in the
classic and muscle car business. In 1932 the Ford Motor Company
cornered the still embryonic American 'performance' market with the
introduction of their V8 engine. Although it was not the first V8,
it was mass produced and offered at a price that the average worker
could afford. This stalwart engine had been continually improved,
so by the time Eugene Bob Gregorie penned the beautiful lines for
the 1940 Ford, an instant classic was born. This gorgeous Folkstone
Gray 1940 Ford DeLuxe Convertible Coupe is a remarkable example of
these iconic automobiles. Beneath the graceful hood the smooth 221
ci flathead V8 purrs quietly, aided by a 12-volt conversion.
Additional features include a 3-speed manual transmission, leather
upholstery, power hydraulic top, oil filter, oil bath air cleaner,
grille guard, road lights, outer trim rings, outside mirrors, and
6.00-16 wide whitewall tires. It has a very unusual heater that air
flows through the radiator and off the exhaust manifold with a
little motor that blows it into the car, This gem is sharp from
every angle and sports good paint, trim, dash, glass, and mats. The
top is in excellent condition and works properly. The chassis,
although not show-ready, is functionally excellent and provides a
supple ride. This is an outstanding, rust-free example of an
important prewar classic that can be used and enjoyed without
worry. Certainly one of the best-looking 81-year-olds I've seen
recently! Street Dreams (830-997-1950) is a full service dealership
