Vehicle Description
The 1966 Shelby Cobra replica is perhaps the purest expression of
automotive performance ever put on the streets. But when you look
at the time, money, and effort it takes to build your own, you'll
realize how much you really just want a quality restored car with a
deep finish and plenty of fuel-injected V8 power.
This car has a full known history that starts with a quality Shell
Valley body that was delivered in 1998. While that's not too long
ago, it was then given a full restoration/transformation beginning
in 2013. This work also included a big investment in professional
paintwork. The dark Caspian Blue has a metallic that loves to
radiate the finish's depth every time the sunshine finds this
roadster's body. It highlights the gentle European curves
originally created by AC, and the aggressive fenders that Carroll
Shelby needed to harness all that added power. Just as important,
it also gets the details right. The dual white stripes are an
iconic touch, and the flip-up gap cap and hood scoop are great
reminders of this car's track ability. But there's something
slightly different about this one... it feels like there is a bit
more of a sinister touch. That's thanks to traditionally bright
elements being rendered in black. It gives a little more attitude
in places like the quick jack bumpers and wicked rumbling side
pipes.
The interior gets the classic sports car attitude right with
wrap-around bucket seats and vintage-style racing lap belts. It's a
deep/dark look that also shows its quality with well-done
materials, including plush look carpeting and a leather dash. This
one is built to keep the driver comfortable with the grippy sports
steering wheel, Hurst shifter, and a full set of crisp/clean
AutoMeter gauges. The driver's seat is even specifically set up to
get added legroom for taller drivers.
Under the hood is a terrific powerhouse. Ford's fuel-injected 5.0
cubic-inch V8 is already a legend on the streets, and this one is
supported by the right pieces, like a K&N high-flow air intake,
Optima red top battery, and MSD distributor. Plus this FI machine
inhales deeply with an Edelbrock upper intake, and it exhales with
added power and authority as custom heat-wrapped headers feed those
awesome side pipes. This V8 does a great job of moving the
lightweight fiberglass body, and you can stay in the powerband with
ease thanks to the five-speed manual transmission with McLeod
clutch. Of course, power is nothing without control. That's why
this Cobra comes with a tubular A-arm front end, four-wheel
adjustable coilovers, and four-wheel disc brakes.
The sale comes complete with build receipts, maintenance records,
title documentation, service manuals, and restoration photos. A
Cobra is a dream for a lot of us, so hurry up before one of the
most affordable and complete stunners gets snatched up by someone
else. Call today!!!
