Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1983 Porsche 928 S. This
928 is a Euro / grey-market example finished in attractive
Rauchquarz metallic (Smoky Quartz) with a brown leather interior.
It's showing 44,000 miles, but as the cluster was likely changed
when the car was federalized, true mileage is unknown.
The Euro/ROW cars benefited from a higher compression ratio,
different camshafts and a freer-flowing intake - and by most
accounts produce 40-60 more horsepower than the American-market
cars. The 4.7 liter 16-valve V8 is mated to a three-speed automatic
transaxle and uses CIS injection. Bumpers integrate fog lights and
there are a few interior and option differences between the
models.
This example is all stock and retains its working original
Blaupunkt head unit. It is offered from an estate and has been in
storage for a few years - it runs and drives but is due for
servicing, tires and a few electrical repairs. It is in decent
cosmetic condition with good overall paint (there are a few areas
that need attention), soft and intact leather seats, nice door
cards, etc. As 928s have become increasingly collectible -
especially in desirable Euro specification - this offers a good
starting point for someone who wants to take it to the next
level.
