Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is excited to offer this 1964
Jeep CJ-5 for sale on consignment at our Arizona showroom, located
in North Phoenix. These small, open-bodied, off-road vehicles were
built and sold for 28 years in this body style. This one clearly
has a look that it's going for, and we love it! Yes, that's really
a cannon hitched to the back of this military style Jeep. Painted
in Flat Green with "Camo" netting over the passenger compartment
and a windshield that can be lowered, this 1964 Jeep CJ-5 is ready
to go to battle. The seller claims the powertrain on this vehicle
is "numbers matching" although this is unverified by Gateway
Classic Cars starting with a cast iron 134 CID Straight-4 engine
(estimated 75hp/114lb ft of torque). Also era-appropriate is the
3-speed manual transmission which is synchronized beyond first
gear, allowing for precise shifting while getting up to speed.
Inside this Jeep it's pretty bare bones with a Green cloth bench
seat for passengers and a storage area in the back. A large, hard
plastic steering wheel dominates the view from the driver's seat
and a single round dial in the center of the dashboard includes the
speedometer, temperature and fuel gauges. There has also been turn
signals and seat belts added for safety. This is a fantastic
example of this era CJ-5 and there is plenty of life left for the
new owner to enjoy as is or even as a more thorough restoration
project. Want to own something that is both unique and practical?
