Vehicle Description
"The 1970s declared to the automotive world that trucks aren't just
for work anymore. Custom trucks were red hot in the Me Decade, and
pickups, vans, and four-wheel-drive vehicles were modified with
great gusto by mustached enthusiasts who added wider wheels and
tires, side pipes, and splashy paint jobs. Oh, and don't forget the
mandatory CB-radio whip antenna. The custom-truck scene blossomed
into a lifestyle on the West Coast, with trucks of all types used
to haul cool toys to the local beaches and deserts. It didn't take
long for automakers to catch the vibe. Chevy, Dodge, Ford, GMC,
International Harvester, and Jeep all churned out special
editions." - Car and Driver Magazine.
The 1975 GMC Sierra Classic 1500 offered here is drenched in that
70's vibe and is downright just plain cool. We recently acquired
this from a collector in Arizona who took excellent care of the
truck and went to great lengths to preserve its originality. The
truck was originally from California, so it is no surprise that
this truck is rock solid. All within the last 8 months or so the
truck has had the following work done: Soft Ride 4 inch suspension
lift, powder coat stock wheels with BFG 35x12.5 tires, steering
stabilizer shock, upper and lower - left and right ball joints,
front brakes, front differential bearings, axle shafts,
weatherstrip kit, chrome front bumper, headliner, spark plugs and
wires. The truck has a freshly recovered bench seat along with new
carpet as well. Other highlights include headers, power brakes,
power steering, Warn manual locking hubs, KC lights that work with
the flip of a switch on the dash, brush guard. The truck comes with
receipts that reflect this work totaling over $16,000.
The exterior appears to be highly original and is very straight and
very solid. The doors snap shut like a vault door with no sagging.
The graphics, trim and paint all complement each other
exceptionally well. This is an excellent example of a very
original/stock truck that has been finessed into very attractive
and mechanically sound must have Collector grade pickup.
