This awesome 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Sportsroof “R-Code” 428 SCJ 5-speed custom is the real deal and much more! The vision of this build was to create a vehicle that appears original but has been completely upgraded throughout. It’s one of only 3,388 built with a 428 SCJ V8 engine as documented with the Marti Auto Works “Deluxe Report” that is included. The original Lois Eminger Report is also included. This was an early built car with ownership history from 1994. It was the product of a rotisserie nut and bolt restoration by JG Restorations in Ashaway, Rhode Island. Everything was restored or replaced new during the restoration including all the Carlite script date coded glass with correct tint and Alloy Metal wiring harnesses. It was completed in 2021 with less than 100 test miles. It sports its original color combination Acapulco Blue and Black which is very desirable with enthusiasts. It has a beautiful body and paint job that was recently detailed to a show quality shine. It sits on custom Legendary 17” Magnum 500 wheels with BF Goodrich G-Force Sport Comp tires. The beautiful new black interior has some custom features as Autometer Cobra gauges, 5-speed shift knob, NPD adapter kit for driver’s seat, fold down rear seat, Retrosound sound system and Mach 1 carpeted floor mats. The trunk compartment was painted and dressed with a factory style mat. The engine compartment is highly detailed with many correct parts throughout. The car is powered by a date code 428 SCJ V8 engine that has been rebuilt with many high performance parts. It’s a 428 Super Cobra Jet V8 on steroids with an estimated 425HP. The engine is cooled by an original FoMoCo stamp CJ / Boss 429 4-speed radiator with 428 clutch fan. The engine breathes through a custom 2.5” mandrel bent exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers and CJ twin exhaust tips. The engine is coupled to a new Tremec World Class T5 5-speed manual transmission with a California Pony Cars transmission cross member. The power is transferred to a date code N case 9” rear end with V code ring and pinion and Moser 31 spline axles. It’s equipped with power steering that was added during the restoration. The undercarriage is highly detailed and was finished in the correct red oxide with many correct parts throughout. It has hidden steel plate reinforced front and rear torque boxes connected to steel plate and rectangle tube plug welded subframe connectors hidden inside the rocker panels. It retains the stock floor and frame appearance. It has an Open Tracker Racing Products stock style front suspension with roller bearing LCA’s and roller spring perches, adjustable strut rods, front sway bar and 1” drop front springs, mid eye 5 leaf springs and Bilstein shocks at all four corners. It’s equipped with stock power front disc brakes and spindles with Open Tracker Racing Products stock appearing oversized 11” rear drum brakes. It also has a stainless fuel tank, fuel lines and brake lines. This pony is one sweet ride.
As the Mart Auto Works “Deluxe Report” and the original Lois Eminger Report indicates this car was built in Dearborn, MI as a 1969 Ford Mustang Sportsroof that had a Acapulco Blue with blackout hood treatment exterior and a Black Clarion Knit/Vinyl Mach 1 Hi-Back bucket seat interior. It was scheduled for build on November 19, 1968 but was actually produced on November 22, 1968 which was three days behind schedule. It was equipped with 428 SCJ V8 engine, 4-speed close ratio manual transmission, F70x14 traction tires with raised white letters, AM radio and power front disc brakes. It was retailed from Weislow Ford located in Bowling Green, OH on November 30, 1968. This car was one of only 3,388 built with a 428 SCJ V8 engine. The Marti Auto Works “Deluxe Report” and the original Lois Eminger Report are both included.
The exterior of this awesome classic muscle car is in absolutely beautiful condition. During the rotisserie restoration most of the sheet metal was replaced. The new sheet metal included the wheel houses, trunk drops, Dynacorn full rear quarters, NOS hood, NOS front fenders, OEM doors, OEM front and rear valances. The body is very straight with great gaps throughout. The hood, doors and trunk lid close very nicely. The car finished in its original color of Acapulco Blue with black accents on the hood, cowl, side and rear trunk lid. It also has the yellow Mach 1 stripe on the side. This is a very desirable color with Mustang enthusiasts and collectors. The paint is show quality throughout and has been detailed to a brilliant shine. All of the glass was replaced with new correct tinted glass and Carlite scripted date codes. It has 1970 style bolt in glass and regulators. Everything on the exterior was restored or replaced. The sits on new custom Legendary 17” aluminum Magnum 500 wheels that are 17x7 on the front and 17x8 on the rear. The wheels are wrapped with new BF Goodrich G-Force Sport Comp tires that are 245/45/17 on the front and 255/45/17 on the rear. This car looks like it did from the factory with exception the custom wheels that give it a slightly more modern appearance. The exterior of this car is simply gorgeous!
The car sports its original color interior of Black Clarion Knit/Vinyl Mach 1 Hi-Back bucket seats. This interior was completely restored from top to bottom and looks amazing. Some examples would be the headliner, dome lights, sun visors, rear view mirror, dash pad, dash, dash hardware, gauges, rim blow steering wheel, column, console, door sills, door panels, door hardware, kicker panels, bucket seats, front seat belts, rear seats, carpeting and pedals. The rear interior quarter panels and center console are OEM. All the wood grain panels are the correct light teak for early built 1969 car. It has a stock appearing wood shifter knob with 5-speed shift pattern. A fold down rear seat was added during the restoration which works nicely. The driver’s seat has a NPD adapter kit which allows the seat to move back further for a taller driver. A set of Autometer Cobra series analog oil pressure and water temp gauges in Shelby style ashtray pod were added. A Retrosound sound system was also added which includes a stock appearing Hermosa radio with Bluetooth, Triax high power dash speaker and high power dual cone door speakers. MS CLASSIC CARS added new custom Mach 1 carpeted floor mats put the icing on the cake.
The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout and appears factory with many correct parts. The backside of the hood was painted body color. The firewall, inner fenders and radiator support was painted in the correct shade of black. Everything in the engine compartment was restored or replaced such as the hood hinges, wiper motor, Alloy Metal Products new wiring harnesses, alternator, hoses and belts. The car is powered by a date code 428 SCJ V8 engine that has been rebuilt with many high performance parts. It’s a 428 Super Cobra Jet V8 on steroids with an estimated 425HP. It’s a C scratch reinforced web block with correct hatchet. Some of the internals include a 1UA SCJ crank, Eagle H beam rods, TRW 10.25 to 1 pistons, Comp hydraulic roller cam, Moral roller lifters and T&D Racing roller rocker arms.
The undercarriage is also highly detailed throughout and appears factory with many correct parts. This undercarriage is nice enough to display with mirrors at a car show.
