Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present this 1965 Dodge Dart GT
for sale by our Indianapolis Showroom. The Third Generation Dart
was introduced in 1963 and was a huge success, establishing the
popularity that would follow the Dart until production ended for
the 1976 model year. This car is an original highly optioned 1965
Dodge Dart GT. 318 Cubic inch V8 with 273 accessories (Original 273
Engine will come with the car). Power Steering, Power Brakes,
Optional Deluxe Steering Wheel, bumperettes, back up lights(they
were an option in 1965) and Factory Air-conditioning. Original
color is Ruby Red with dark red metallic interior and White vinyl
top. During restoration, the car was stripped, what small amount of
rust it had was replaced with good metal and painted back to the
original factory color. The car with few exceptions noted was
restored back to original. The interior is completely new. New door
panels, New headliner, new carpet, new sun visors, new arms rests
and bases. The original dash pad was sent to Just dashes and
restored. The plastic instrument bezels were all sent to be
restored. The engine is currently a 1971 dated 318 that was bored
.030 over. New pistons, cam, lifters. The motor has only about 200
miles on it and it runs great. Also included is a 1965 dated four
barrel intake manifold. The exhaust system is from Accurate Exhaust
Systems and is factory correct single exhaust with the stainless
steel exhaust tip. It has a resonator and a muffler. K member has
been powder coated. The transmission is a A-904 cable shift
transmission correct for 1965. It was totally rebuilt. Shifts and
runs great. Also included in the sale is a spare A-904 cable shift
transmission. These are not easy to get. Currently the rear end is
a 2.96 geared 741 case Chrysler 8 3/4 differential. The housing has
been powder coated. Originally it was a 7 1/4 rear end. I decided
to replace the rear end since the 8 3/4 is a more reliable and
stronger rear end. The car now has the Chrysler large bolt pattern
4X4.5 bolt pattern. The rims are Keystone Klassics. The fronts are
15X7 and the rear is 15X8. The tires are all new . The rear brakes
are now 10x2.5 drums. Everything is new. The front brakes are now
converted to disc brakes. Bolt pattern again is 4.5 inch.
Everything in the front is new. The suspension is all new. New ball
joints, tie rods, pitman an idler arms. New upper control arms. The
rear springs are new. Shocks are all completely new. The bumpers
are replated originals with factory bumperettes that are original
to the car. Single factory style 4X10 in the dash. It is the
original radio that is converted to AM/FM with a input for USB and
an AUX jack. The air conditioning system has been restored by
Classic Auto Air. The AC system has recently been installed and
blows cold. Also included is a spare condenser, receiver dryer and
some lines and hoses. Original correct number round top Chrysler
radiator. It also has the correct fan shroud for air conditioned
cars that has been powder coated. Also present is the correct
