However, the 70's was a different ballgame for the British luxury manufacturer who, like all contemporary automakers, had to take emissions regulations and a changing market demographic into consideration. The luxury XJ-S was marketed as a "Grand-Tourer" and its larger than life V-12 engine reflected what this car stood for. The convertible option was offered through dealers in the US before 1988, but this example is a true Jaguar factory two-seat full convertible.
