Ford Mustang GT California Special. With only 4,100 produced, and
sold in only two California markets, this is an incredibly rare
find in such an amazing condition. The Mustang was Ford's most
successful launch since the Model A. This iconic machine
essentially created the term Pony Car and has been influencing the
sports car market ever since. It was anticipated that Ford would
sell less than 100,000 Mustangs upon its intro to the automotive
world. They outdid those projections by just a few, producing over
1 million Mustangs in the first 18 months of its production due to
enormous demand. However, this vehicle has been in the same family
since purchase and reflects the countless time and care put into
it. The headliner, A/C unit, rebuilt rear axle, machined heads,
engine bore, water pump, alternator, starter, carburetor, plugs,
wires, and rebuilt transmission are some of the processes that have
been done on this Mustang. Equipped with a 302 Cubic Inch V8 that
has only 2,600 miles post rebuild. In addition to an engine
refresh, this 68' was sandblasted, repaired for rust in applicable
areas, and repainted back to "Presidential Blue" factory spec. The
rear taillights show no cracks or deterioration on the Special
Edition rear end. Even the cursive chrome "California Special"
lettering on both sides of the tail is good condition. Accompanying
the Presidential Blue exterior is the blue interior, with blue
bucket seats, blue headliner and dash, and Automatic floor shifter
Transmission with cruise control. Options for this 1968 Ford
Mustang include AM/FM Radio, Air Conditioning, Power Disc Brakes,
Power Steering, Seat Belts, Spare Tire, Original Wheels, and Hub
