Vehicle Description
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this absolutely immaculate
1977 MG-B Roadster. This European classic comes in a radiant Tahiti
paint job complemented by chrome luggage rack, silver stripes and a
clean matching black interior with brown seats. Powering the MG-B
is a crisp 1.8 liter 4 cylinder motor mated to a well sorted manual
gear box. The MG-B rides on 14 inch knock off wire wheels. The car
comes with its original MG Passport to service brochure and tonneau
cover. The cockpit is in excellent condition and the gauges are
crystal clean and clear. This is an excellent running and driving
example.
Development of the MGB started at least as early as 1958 with the
prototype known by its Abingdon codename; MG EX205. In structure
the car was an innovative, modern design in 1962, utilizing a
unitary structure instead of the traditional body-on-frame
construction used on both the MGA and MG T-types and the MGB's
rival, the Triumph TR series. The MGB achieved a 0-60 mph time of
just over 11 seconds. The three-bearing 1,798 cc B-Series engine
produced 95 hp at 5,400 rpm - upgraded in October 1964 to a
five-bearing crankshaft. From 1975, US-market MGB engines were
de-tuned to meet emission standards, ride height was increased by
an inch, and distinctive rubber bumpers were fitted to meet bumper
standards.
