Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this 1934
Packard Eight Club Sedan 716 Restomod! Only a few decades removed
from the Gilded Age the 30s era Luxury line cars were captivating!
Competition was strong and luxury was at its finest. Packard
debuted the Eight in 1930 within multiple different models to suit
various needs and desires. The Eight ranged in price from around
$2500-$5500, which considering the times - post depression that is
a staggering number. But this was not a car for the masses.
Perspective, that amount is around $40,000 - $80,000 today,
incredible! Here is something special. A 1934 Packard Eight Club
Sedan 716 Restomod. Now before you dig into the modifications you
need to understand the state of this car when the current owner
acquired it. This car was disheveled and buried in a barn. 23 years
ago the current owner struck a deal and bought this vintage Packard
and gave it a new lease on life. Restored her and modified her to
be able to enjoy daily. Walking around the car she is pure Packard
elegance. Body is in great shape and blue and black Kirker paint
looks wonderful. The interior is in nice condition, dash looks
proper and seats look comfortable. Powering this Packard is a LT1
350ci V8 out of a 1996 Impala SS running that modern power to the
ground through a 4L60E Automatic transmission. Holding this legend
together is the complete subframe and torsion suspension from a '78
Chrysler, mainly to carry the weight of her. The engine was chosen
from the Impala for its cast iron heads instead of the aluminum
ones in the Corvette so they wouldn't warp. Corvette valve covers
were added for aesthetics. Dodge Omni rack-and-pinion steering and
13" disc brakes help slow her down. Ford 9" rear end and reworked
Packard leaf springs, 3:50 gears, and Monroe air shocks. The ride
is exceptional, truly a pleasure to drive! If you crave the
vintage, timeless and sleek look but yearn to be able to drive it
daily, this is absolutely the car for you! Might even occasionally
surprise the car revving at you at a stop light by showing them
what the back looks like. Options on this Packard are: A/C, Power
Steering, Power Brakes, Power Seats, Power Windows, Power Wipers,
Leather Seats, AM/FM Radio, CD Player, Telescopic wheel, Wire
