Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is honored to market this 1956 Ford
Thunderbird! The Ford Thunderbird began life in February 1953 in
direct response to Chevrolet's new sports car, the Corvette.
Production of the Thunderbird began later on in 1954 on September 9
with the car beginning sales as a 1955 model on October 22, 1954
and sold really well in its first year; outselling the Corvette by
more than 23-to-one for 1955 with 16,155 Thunderbirds sold against
700 Corvettes. With the Thunderbird considered a success, a few
changes were made to the car for 1956. The most notable change was
moving the spare tire to a continental-style rear bumper in order
to make more storage room in the trunk and a new 12-volt electrical
system. If you're ready to take a cruise around town and do so in
some style, simply hop in, turn the key, shift it into gear, and
this spunky numbers matching 312 V8 will have you rolling. The 312
V8, which produces approximately 225 HP is linked to a Ford O Matic
3 speed transmission. This original drivetrain has just over 44k
undocumented miles. The interior was kept simplistic and very
period correct for a 56' T-Bird. The Carmel Tan vinyl interior
gives it a nice contrast, looks sharp, and is in good shape
overall. Other options on this 1956 Thunderbird include: AM/FM
Radio, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Vinyl interior, White Walls, &
Seat belts. With its classic look, colors, lines, white-wall tires,
and low body, this Thunderbird is a great find and will make its
next owner very proud to have and to hold onto. To see 100+ HD
