Karma in showroom condition. People will ask about the car, take
pictures of the car, take videos of the car - This particular
Fisker has been featured in three commercial videos. You will never
be invisible in this car. Henrik Fisker wowed the world with his
"first luxury hybrid sedan" at the 2008 North American
International Auto Show in Detroit. Fisker, a Danish-American auto
designer famous for designing Aston Martin DB9 & Vantage, BMW Z8
(James Bond), Galpin-Fisker Mustang Rocket, among others, launched
his "dream car," the Fisker Karma in late 2011. Early deliveries
went to the rich and famous (Al Gore, Colin Powel, Justin Bieber,
Leonardo DiCaprio, Ashton Kutcher, Miranda Kerr, Julio Jones, among
others), with selling prices from $104,000-$120,000. However, early
production models experienced problems with lithium-ion batteries,
exhaust system, electronic bugs and glitches. Fisker stopped
production at #972, changed battery suppliers, re-engineered the
exhaust system, and reprogrammed the computer and electronics. That
reboot fixed the early problems and production/deliveries resumed.
Because of this, vehicles produced AFTER the first 972, command
higher prices with higher demand. This vehicle is production #1373.
All the above pales in comparison with the experience of sitting in
the cockpit and driving this car. The driver is immediately wrapped
in comfort and quality with Suede, Leather, Alcantara, natural
wood, with a list of George Jetson options not available in a
2011-2012 car. The Fisker is long at 197", wide at 78", and low at
52" with a patented working solar roof that actively charges the
battery. Push the Start button and the car comes to life with a
futuristic whirring noise one would expect from a space ship. The
air-tight cabin is super-quiet, with a high-end, Harmon-Kardon
sound system. In STEALTH mode, it cruises using battery power only
for 45-50 miles. Once exhausted, the gasoline engine kicks in for
an additional 250 miles, for a combined total of approximately
275-300 electric/gas miles before recharging or refilling the tank.
In SPORT MODE, both gasoline engine AND Dual Electric Motors
combine for impressive speed and power. The car handles confidently
as it is glued to the road due to the long, wide wheelbase and low
center of gravity. Driving this Fisker Karma is a statement, a
story, an experience, reserved for a unique individual.
