Vehicle Description
It's 1979 all over again! Kiss your Farrah Fawcett poster, put on
that velour v-neck shirt, get in your Mark V and go buy some $0.79
a gallon gas while complaining about the Ayatollah in Iran.
This is a gem of late '70s luxury with only 60,000 original miles.
She runs beautifully, drives beautifully and looks fantastic. I
honestly did not appreciate how well these cars drive until I drove
this one. You will never confuse it with a sports car but the
steering is tight, light and precise. The ride is smooth and
comfortable but not floaty. The brakes are strong and linear. It is
a joy to drive.
The original paint looks fantastic. It is smooth, rich and glossy.
There are some stone chips and a couple of dings as would be
expected. There was a scrape at the bottom corner of the passenger
door. For the life of me I cannot figure out what caused this but
we did give it a light touch up on that one spot. I show the dings
and the scrape beneath the passenger door in detail pics. On the
fenders and hood and trunk lid you can still see the factory
production stamps as if they were made yesterday.
The body is rock solid with no rust ever.
The interior is extremely nice. The supple leather has good color
and shows practically no wear. The dash pad, door panels, carpet
and headliner are all excellent.
She's had a fresh tune-up, oil change and new tires. Her original
400 cubic inch V8 is completely original with all of the original
emissions equipment intact. The engine compartment is clean and
looks fantastic.
If you are in the market for some pro luxury then you know cars in
this condition are few and far between. Can you find cheaper ones?
Absolutely, but I guarantee they will be nowhere near the machine
this one is. There are plenty on the market with higher asking
prices that are lesser cars. If a MK V Continental is what you want
you owe it to yourself to see this car.
