Saleen modified these stock 4th generation GT Mustangs into performance machines with great looks. Available in coupe or "Speedster" convertible body styles, less than 1,000 of these Mustangs were enhanced by Saleen for enthusiasts in the year 2000 with this example being numbered "476". This Mustang is painted in "Laser Red" with a Black convertible top and visible "Sports Bar" for when you're riding roadster style. The 18" custom chrome wheels with the Saleen logo in the center show off slotted Hawk front and rear disc brakes. Saleen modified the Mustang modular 4.6l V8 with a supercharger, aluminum manifold and stainless-steel exhaust for a racy 365hp rating. Saleens own 5-speed quick-ratio manual transmission is bolted to the motor for a fast, fun and personalized driving experience. Recent upgrades on the vehicle includes a K&N air filter, billet air mass adapter and Cobra clutch kit. A car with this much power needs to handle well and that's achieved by rack and pinion steering as well as the standard suspension equipment installed on S281 Mustangs including Bilstien shocks and struts, Racecraft springs and urethane swaybar bushings. Inside the Saleen you'll find a more typical Mustang GT presentation with Black leather interior, Ford climate controls, stereo with CD and cassette player and center console with cupholders. Saleen has made its presence known more subtly with the gauge cluster and obviously through Steve Saleen's signature on the glove compartment. From what we can tell, this S281 for sale has been taken care of and not daily driven with just under 63,000 miles recorded on the odometer. These vehicles were popular when they came out but today are gaining traction in the classic car market as they offer a more pure driving experience than a newer Mustang that relies heavily on a computer for performance.
