Vehicle Description
1948 Chevy 3100 Thriftmaster PU. DGT0330 VIN 14FP110330 216
straight 6 stock engine with a 3 speed on the column. I've looked
this PU over and I really like the condition it's in. The paint is
very nice. The wide whites are like new. I bought it in Ballard and
drove it up. Drives great. It does have about 3 minor rust repair
spots you can see in the photos and video. Then it was painted. The
paint shines. The PU looked so good we did some extra engine
detailing. We also cleaned on the underside. The pickup was
purchased in rural Ohio by the seller's mother in late 2000 and
shipped to Albuquerque, NM where it received body, paint and some
interior work. The engine was worked on by her neighbor who
restored cars (mainly 280z - retired Air Force and commercial
pilot). She always wanted an old pickup and he said "You find it
and I will work on it and get it running for you". In 2006, she
relocated and did not have a garage to store it or the arms to
manage the not-so power steering. She had the pickup shipped to
Seattle for safe keeping. The car was a summer driver for her son.
It received lots of thumbs up. He drove it for Swedish Hospital in
the Syttende Mai Parade in Ballard and the summer parade in
Greenwood - otherwise it really was in the garage with the
occasional outing in the fall when it was not raining. I wish I
could buy these trucks in this kind of condition but that does not
happen very often.
