Gateway Classic Cars of Milwaukee is proud to present to you this
gorgeous numbers matching 1968 Pontiac GTO this car is backed up
with Pontiac Historical paperwork. The GTO is arguably Pontiac's
most famous model of all time and was the inspiration for one heck
of a marketing campaign, countless songs and even a men's cologne!
The GTO also carried many nick names such as "The Goat", "The Great
One" and after 1969 "The Judge". The GTO story starts back in 1963
when up and coming Pontiac executive John DeLorean produced a
simple yet revolutionary idea; drop a big motor into a midsized
body and gear it towards young adults. The GTO was a smash hit
immediately. GM originally planned on building 5000 cars of the
1964 model year, the car was so successful over 32000 were built in
the first year alone. For the '68 season GM had redesigned their
A-Body platform. A more curvaceous, yet muscle car buyers were
looking for and Pontiac found 87684 buyers for their newly designed
Goat. Styling cues on the '68 GTOs were a complete departure from
its predecessor and many quintessential featured debuted on the
1968 GTOs including the Endura front bumper that was painted to
match the body of the car, a fastback styled rear end was
reminiscent of the General Motors cars of the late '40s and the
Pontiac Arrowhead logo was used as the rear marker light! How cool
is that? The '68 GTO was also the first Goat to offer concealed
windshield wipers that are tucked away under the hood which gives
the car a much sleeker look. The 1968 GTO was such a home run, not
only was the '68 the second-best selling GTO of all time the car
was also chosen as Motor Trend Magazine's Car of the Year in 1968.
Hot Rodding Magazine called the car"the best balanced Pontiac ever
built". With the raw power and beautiful style this car offers. Our

it's original 4 speed Muncie transmission backed with PHS
