Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is pleased to offer this
well-preserved 1960 Willys Station Wagon for sale right now in our
Arizona showroom, located in North Phoenix. These wagons marked a
post-war shift in US consumer attitudes towards family life in the
suburbs and with over 300,000 built many Americans who grew up in
this era will fondly remember these vehicles. This 4-wheel-drive
wagon has been repainted in its Turquoise and White two-tone color
combination. Under the hood is the period correct "Super Hurricane"
L-head 226 CID Inline 6 engine that could be numbers matching but
is unverified at this time. With a horsepower rating of 105 and
190lb ft of torque, the Super Hurricane was at the top of the wish
list for Willys buyers in 1960. Also era-appropriate is the 3-speed
manual transmission which is synchronized beyond first gear,
allowing for precise shifting while getting up to speed. The
Turquoise colored interior features seating accommodating three
each in the front and rear. A large, hard plastic steering wheel
dominates the view from the driver's seat and a single round dial
in the center of the dashboard includes the speedometer,
temperature and fuel gauges. This is a fantastic example of a
mostly stock classic and there is plenty of life left for the new
owner to enjoy as is or even as a more thorough restoration
project. Want to own something that is both unique and practical?
