While the Aerocoupe was mechanically identical to the standard Monte Carlo SS, the sloping rear window inspired by NASCARs for '86 and '87 model years provided improved aerodynamics and therefore a few extra mph at speed. To accommodate the 25-degree slope of the rear glass, a smaller trunk lid was used. A little over 6,000 Aerocoupes were sold during the short production run and you can be sure that there aren't too many left with just 5,174 miles showing on the odometer either! This Monte Carlo SS comes painted in White with the red SS racing livery that brightens up an otherwise typical 1980's boxy body style. The 305 CID V8 engine that was also used in contemporary F-Body GM products like the Camaro and Firebird powers this G-Body Monte Carlo SS with a factory rated 190hp and 240lb ft of torque. Just like many stock 80's classic cars, these Aerocoupes look faster than they go from 0-60mph but are great cruisers once you get up to speed and even have an overdrive gear thanks to the 200-4R 4-speed automatic transmission. Inside the Monte Carlo is a welcoming Burgundy cloth interior with front bucket seats, center console with shifter and the AM/FM/Cassette player and climate controls built into the dash. All the materials and surfaces on this Monte Carlo have held up extremely well and look less worn than you'd expect for a 33-year-old car.
