Vehicle Description
1968 CAMARO C.O.P.O. TRIBUTE
COMING SOON!
We just acquired a 1968 Camaro from a guy who "threw in the towel"
on a nut & bolt frame-off restoration that he has been building
since 2019. He got pretty far too but Covid19 hit and he got laid
off his job so the project came to a screeching halt and the car
had to be sold. Another victim of this horrid virus. Anyway...Check
it out !!
He told us that he stripped the car to a bare shell and had the
body media blasted clean. Both 1/4's and the trunk needed to be
replaced but beyond that everything else was solid and clean. The
body was reassembled and fitted to perfection and professionally
painted with PPG base/clear in "Cortez Silver" and no stripes. Then
he began to reassemble the car by installing a rebuilt 12 bolt
rear, all new steering & suspension, new 4 wheel power disc brakes
and lines and a new fuel tank and lines. Then he installed a
recently rebuilt 427 c.i. big block engine and M-21 4 speed
transmission. This is how we bought the car. It did come with
almost everything to finish like a new standard black bucket seat
interior including carpet, headliner, door panels, instrument
cluster & dash pad and all new chrome, trim, weather stripping &
glass.
We decided to go with that stripped C.O.P.O look by adding
functional cowl induction and steel wheels with factory dog dish
(poverty) center caps and redline tires. VERY COOL !!
This car is really coming out nice and it will be all brand new
too. Look for it soon !!
