Rare factory born Super Cobra Jet with drag pack. I just bought
this car back from the person I sold it to 18 years ago! It was a
fresh rotisserie restoration at that time. It has only been made
better and better by it's owner. It was his baby. He won 54
trophies, personally hand waxed it twice a season, and constantly
made upgrades and improvements. It is really dialed in. Documented
with a Marti report and original invoice.
EXTERIOR: Gorgeous combination of colors, louvers, spoiler, stance
etc. Repainted it's factory Calypso Coral color. It was painted 19
years ago and looks like it was done yesterday, that says a lot
about the quality of the body. The body still looks pristine after
being painted 19 years it's amazing. It is absolutely straight from
every angle. It is just as smooth along the bottom as it is on the
top. I don't see any damage or rust, actually I haven't even found
a nick. The paint is glossy and smooth including the hood patch. It
even feels slick like teflon. The door jambs are tidy,
weatherstrips are excellent, sill plates look like new. All the
chrome trim is excellent. Up front the bumper, headlight bezels and
grill are excellent. It has hood locks, correct antenna and sport
mirrors. All the trim around the windows, rain gutters and top of
the doors are mint. Door handles are excellent. In back the bumper
and taillights are excellent. Only 100 miles on the BFG tires. New
vintage style 15 inch Torque Thrust wheels with custom made center
caps. If you look closely it has machined Cobras, those are not
decals. The glass is excellent.
INTERIOR: Custom hand made, genuine leather upholstery by Ed's
Interior of Villa Park. Even the sides and backs of the seats and
the door panels are leather. It has Cobras embroidered on the seats
and Cobra emblems on the doors. There is a TCI Outlaw shifter
sticking out of the factory console. On the floor the carpet looks
new with the sewn in rubber mats, seatbelts are mint. The dash pad
is mint with a Cobra emblem. The instrument panel is excellent-
lenses and knobs look good. It has a retro stereo with 6x9 speakers
in the back. There is a nice set of Sport Comp gauges mounted below
and a matching tachometer was cleverly installed where the ashtray
would be. The deluxe steering wheel has a polished wood rim and
aluminum spokes. Above the headliner, visors and mirror are mint.
I'm looking around one more time, it looks new in here.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Professionally built by master mechanic John
Palda. The 468 is making 618 hp and 577 lbs of torque. They started
with an actual Cobra Jet 4 bolt main block. It was bored .40 over,
align honed and decked. It has all new parts, ARP main studs, high
performance rotating assembly, Eagle crank, Pro Moly rings, Crane
hydraulic roller cam, performance dampner, HD oil pump etc.
Edelbrock aluminum CJ heads were ported and polished, has high
pressure valve springs, new valve job. A set of finned aluminum
valve covers top them off. The intake is polished aluminum with a
big Edelbrock carb and a shaker ram air scoop on top. It has an MSD
ignition system with Ford Racing plug wires. The pulleys are
aluminum, the alternator, power steering and alternator brackets
are chrome. It has a set of shorty headers. A big polished aluminum
BeCool radiator, polished high flow aluminum water pump, stainless
hoses, polished overflow bottle and an electric fan keep it cool.
The power steering is kept cool with an external cooler. The oil is
kept clean with a NASCAR style remote twin filter system. A big
Interstate Battery is bolted down properly, the cables look new. It
has power brakes. Top of the shock towers, hood springs and hood
latch are chromed. The engine bay is clean metal with a smooth
black finish.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It has been boxed and carpeted with bound edges.
The spare is a matching Torque Trust wheel with BF Goodrich tire.
Also included is a soft car cover. Under the trunk lid and jamb are
painted real nice, weather strip is excellent.
UNDERSIDE: It was restored on a rotisserie, the bottom of the car
is like new. The factory seams, pinch welds, frame rails, floors
are clean metal. The front end is completely rebuilt- balljoints,
bushings, tie rods, nuts and bolts were replaced. New power
steering system. New heavy duty swaybar. Rear suspension was
rebuilt, has CalTrac tubular traction bars. QA1 adjustable gas
shocks front and back. Looking up at the motor it is spotless. It
has an extra capacity 10 quart oil pan, rebuilt starter.
Performance built by master mechanic. It is a C-6 automatic with
B&M shift kit, chrome pan and external oil cooler. Custom made
aluminum driveshaft with new U-joints. In back it has a new Strange
Engineering Ford 9 inch. It has a backbrace reinforcement, 3.91
posi unit and 31 spline axles. New custom made NASCAR style exhaust
with fat pipes, Flowmaster mufflers and side outlet tips. New fuel
tank, sending unit and electric fuel pump. Rebuilt brakes, has disc
in front. E-brake is hooked up.
